Rest in Power Ellen Percival

[Image shows a picture of Ellen with dark hair, cap and a beautiful smile. There are plants around the edges of the graphic. The text says R.I.P Ellen Percival. Picnic for all who loved Ellen. Saturday 21st May, 1pm St George Park, Bristol]

I just wrote this post on instagram but I’m aware that there are a lot of people who don’t use social media or instagram specifically:

I’m so sorry if you’re finding out via an IG post, Ellen had SO many friends all over the world and their partner and close friends have been trying to call everyone they can. Ellen was found dead on Friday  😰. We have no idea why yet. It was completely unexpected and an unbelievable shock.

I still can’t believe it. We were only organising medicine making together a few days ago for Ukraine.

The autopsy and funeral are likely to take a long time so we have decided to bring people together to grieve and celebrate Ellen and their life at a picnic in Bristol. Everyone is welcome who knew and loved Ellen. Please share the graphic ❤️. They had so many friends 😭. And everyone who met them fell in love with their queer nerdy uniqueness, kindness, warmth and hilariousness. 🌱🐌🍄

We met in 2012 and were together in 2015. I’m so grateful to have had all these years of friendship and to have had them in my life 😭😭😭. They were an amazing botanist and I learnt so much from them. I can barely look at plants at the moment in grief.

If you are coming from another city and need a place to stay in Bristol please drop me a DM and we will do our best to organise sleeping spaces ❤️. Please bring food to share (with labels if possible for allergies). No doubt Ellen would have made a spreadsheet right now 😭.

Rest in power Ellen Percival. 🏴❤️ You are so loved.
